Develop the leadership each environment needs
There is no single profile of a good leader. Different teams, cultures, challenges and moments in an organization may need different ways to decide, communicate, influence, support or manage change. Talent360 combines DISC, competencies, feedback, target profiles, leadership maps and training to understand how a person leads, what the context needs and where it is worth developing.
The best leader is not always the most dominant
Leadership is often associated with:
But an environment that needs transformation does not necessarily require the same leadership as:
a technical team
a stable department
an organization in crisis
a creative team
a highly regulated area
a group that needs cohesion and support
Does this person have a leader profile?
How does this person lead and what does the environment they must lead need?
Leadership = person + team + context
Person
How do they tend to lead?
Team
Who do they need to lead?
Context
What does the situation demand?
The same style can be very effective in one environment and need adaptation in another. The goal is not to find “the right style” universally.
It is to understand:
what the leader naturally brings
what their context demands
where a gap exists
what they can adapt or develop
Understand leadership style with DISC
Much more than a letter or a color
Talent360 can add a specific Leadership Style module within the DISC report. The report analyzes how the person:
For each style it can show:
Strengths
What they naturally bring to leadership.
Challenges
Where they may lose effectiveness or need greater adaptation.
Ideal environment
In what kind of context they can best deploy certain strengths.
In the sample report, the Resolute style appears associated with rigor, firmness, standards and results orientation, but also with challenges such as balancing demandingness with listening, recognition or relational flexibility.
Not all leaders add value in the same way
Talent360 identifies 10 DISC leadership styles, each with strengths, risks and contexts where it can add particular value.
“this style is better”.
“what does this style bring and what does it need to learn to adapt?”
Situational leadership: understand how it is adapting
The report compares the four DISC variables to analyze how the person appears to respond to the current demands of leadership:
Decision
How they face problems, challenges and decision-making.
Interaction
How they manage people, communication and influence.
Serenity
How they face change, pace and stability.
Compliance
How they manage rules, procedures, quality and precision.
And it compares the natural form with the adaptation observed at the present moment.
It is not only about how you lead naturally. It also matters how much you are having to adapt to respond to the current context.
The same leadership does not work equally with the whole team
Talent360 does not just describe the leader. It can also offer strategies to adapt leadership to people with different DISC styles. The real report holds that not everyone responds the same to authority, feedback, participation, change or follow-up, and it proposes different strategies for Decisive, Interactive, Serene and Compliant profiles.
One professional may need more autonomy; another, more context and participation; another, more stability and support; and another, more precision and clarity.
Developing leadership also means learning to adjust:
according to the characteristics of those who make up the team.
Leading better does not always mean changing who you are. Often it means expanding your capacity to adapt.
Visualize the team's leadership
Talent360 lets you generate a DISC Leadership Map that graphically positions the assessed people according to their styles. This lets you observe at a glance:
which styles predominate
what diversity exists
which forms of leadership are more present
which perspectives may be less represented
how leadership is distributed within the group
The map does not classify who is a better leader. It helps understand how different styles are distributed.
What leadership does the role need?
Compare the leader with the real needs of the role
Talent360 offers specific DISC target profiles for leadership positions and also lets you work with your own profiles. This lets you answer:
How close is this person's behavioral profile to the leadership required by this role or context?
For example, the platform includes profiles related to different approaches to management, leadership, project and product management, in addition to letting you define custom profiles.
Don't adapt the role to the person. Nor the person to a label.
A difference from the target profile does not automatically mean “this person cannot lead”. It can mean “this context will demand less natural behaviors and it is worth understanding where they will need adaptation or support”.
Assess leadership competencies too
DISC mainly answers a behavioral question. But leadership involves more layers. That is why Talent360 can combine it with Competency Feedback. The platform offers predefined competency sets specific to leadership and also lets you work with your own models.
DISC
How do they tend to lead?
Competencies
What capabilities do they demonstrate?
Here competencies related to leadership, communication, conflict, results orientation, self-management or others may be included, depending on the selected set.
How the leader sees themselves and how those who work with them perceive them
Within Competency Feedback we can add another perspective. This lets you detect:
strengths
gaps
blind spots
differences between observer groups
development priorities
In leadership, this is particularly valuable because the manager's intention and the impact the team perceives do not always match.
Leadership under pressure
Talent360 can add information about how certain behaviors may intensify under pressure. The real module analyzes:
This can be especially relevant for leadership because less balanced behaviors tend to appear precisely in situations of:
urgency
overload
conflict
uncertainty
lack of control
How they manage conflict
Another complementary module can analyze conflict specifically. The report holds that different DISC styles tend to approach disagreements from different priorities and analyzes:
Leading is not avoiding conflict. It is learning to manage it without losing results, relationships or the ability to move forward.
Enablers and barriers to achieving goals
There is also specific DISC information about how the style can influence the way goals are defined, pursued and sustained. The module identifies enablers, natural process and possible barriers that may hinder progress.
Which part of my style helps me achieve results, and when can that same strength start to become a barrier?
A strength taken too far can become a risk
Strength
Rigor
Used with balance
Quality / precision
Taken to excess
Rigidity / over-control
The logic can apply to many behaviors. The goal of development is not to eliminate strengths. It is to learn when to use them, how much to use them and when to complement them with other behaviors.
From diagnosis to development
We don't want to hand the manager an interesting report that ends up filed away. We want it to help answer:
What should I strengthen?
What should I adapt?
Which behavior deserves more attention?
What does my team need from me?
From data to a leadership development plan
The results can turn into priorities such as:
communication
delegation
conflict management
feedback
decision-making
influence
adaptation to change
results orientation
team management

It seeks to understand “what style this person brings and how well it fits what this environment needs”.

It provides information about behavioral tendencies. It should be interpreted together with:
competencies
experience
context
results
feedback
motivations
and other relevant evidence
The goal is not to classify leaders. It is to help them understand how to expand their leadership capacity.
